Keren helped me realise that there was more than just ideas in me, she gave me the tools, the encouragement, and the place to practice. She taught me how to flesh ideas out into full fledged stories that had feet. As a beginner-writer and only having written creatively before, it felt empowering to be able to translate that to fit for the screen. Keren Green is a brilliant teacher, she has deep care for stories and people which really shows in her own work and examples. Never in my life did I think I would ever be able to write a TV show from idea, to pilot, to pitch deck on my own. And somehow in the 12-weeks I was with her, I managed to do that. Through this course, she not only helped me learn important lessons that are applicable for my writing, but in acting and all my other practices in life too. Her professionalism, her experience in multiple-practices and in both NZ and the US industry, and her care makes for the best teacher to dig around in the trenches of writing with. As I’ve said before, she is brilliant and I would 100 percent come back and do this with her again. Maybe I’ll take a season off to digest and clean up and apply the one I made in the last class, it is a lot of work but it is all the well worth it.

I really looked forward to Keren’s  Skills  Mastery Course every week. She gives you the tools and assistance to outline and structure your work to the point where finishing the feature after the course seems relatively straightforward with no nightmares of muddling through Act 2 and 3.
Initially, speed writing was intimidating but very quickly I saw how beneficial it is, how it rapidly it becomes easier and how fun it can be.  She pushed us to elevate our work and gave us so many new ways to achieve this. Now my challenge is to keep all her techniques in my mind and coordinate them on the page. Keren is such an inspiring  teacher and writer. I would highly recommend her courses and can’t wait to do another with her. 

The Skills Mastery class with Keren was everything I could possibly need. The classes were informative, well thought out and with plenty of notes to take away and refer back on. The class helped me gain confidence in finishing my Feature Film and knowing exactly how to structure it correctly.
